Bio

Kim Oakes, from Warwick, RI, has enjoyed singing and performing a wide variety of music for many years. Her passion for people and music is remarkable.

Her musical journey has taken her to regional and national competitions in Las Vegas, Tennessee, Maine, Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts.  She has had the pleasure of performing in many area shows, including the Milk Fund Talent Show at the Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket, Woonsocket Autumnfest, Jamestown Talent Show, Westerly Art Festival, Foster Fair and the Bonniedale Farm Fundraiser to name just a few.

Kim's passion for people just begins with her music.  She is also employed at the Rhode Island Blood Center's Marrow Donor Program where it's all about saving lives.  In her spare time she enjoys entertaining at nursing homes and dressing in her vast selection of costumes for children's parties and parades, including the Bristol 4th of July parade.  She loves to see people smile, especially through her music.

In 2014 Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer, but she didn't let that slow her down!  She continued to perform throughout her treatment, and her love of singing and the support of her audiences lifted her spirits and helped her through.  She is now in remission and making the most out of every day.

The continuous support from family and friends has been immeasurable.
